Artist Statement
The earliest known artwork depicting the human figure is a voluptuous "Venus" effigy carved from mammoth ivory. Discovered in Germany, it is estimated to be at least 40,000 years old. Various incarnations of this motif persisted across ice age Europe for the following 20,000+ years.
This collection continues the timeless tradition of venerating the robust female form.
